Rooftop rainwater can of good quality and may not require Treatment before consumption Although some rooftop material may produce rainwater that is harmful to human health ,but it can be useful for flushing toilets,washing clothes ,watering the garden and washing cars The first flush of rainwater after a dry season should be allowed to run to waste, as it will be contaminated with dust , bird dropping etc . Rainwater is the purest form of water but while it pours down on the roof of buildings it gets mixed with dirt particles, leaves and debris deposited on the roof and flows through the rainwater drain pipes. To flush out these dirt & debris before letting the water into the Sump or Recharging well, proper Filters need to be incorporated by studying the sizes of the pipeline, sump capacity , filter capacity etc.
